Our mission at Morning Star Farm located in the heart of Bristol, Connecticut is to nurture the bond between humans and animals, making a lasting difference in the lives of all who visit.
Many of the animals rescued by Morning Star Farm come from heartbreaking circumstances—some were surrendered by owners who could no longer afford their care, others were neglected, abandoned, abused, or simply no longer wanted. Regardless of their past, every animal deserves to feel safe, loved, and valued—just like people do. That’s the heart of what we do at Morning Star Farm. We provide each animal with medical attention, proper care, affection, and a secure forever home where they can truly thrive.
Morning Star Farm is a tax-deductible 501c3 Public Charity dedicated to providing animals the daily care they need, as well as opening doors for others in the community to get involved. Donations are vital for sustainability of the farm as well as for fostering its growth to house more animals in need, as well as providing more programs free of charge for the community.
The vision for the future expansion of the farm includes building more barns to house more animals, adding more fencing and building an indoor riding arena for people to work with the horses and learn how to ride. We need your help to make all that we do possible as well as to fulfill and sustain our vision.
Everyone is welcome to be part of our mission. Whether you are interested in volunteering, donating, or simply spending time on the farm, your help is always needed—and deeply appreciated.

Brownie came to the farm from someone who was passing away and could no longer take care of him. He is approximately 10 years old and had been abused in the past. Because of the injuries he had sustained,, he has a deformed front paw. That doesn't stop him from trusting and loving unconditionally though. He is a sweet heart and will be living his best life here at the farm.

Fluffy came to the farm with her friend Brownie. Because their owner had been in the hospital, there were times when they did not eat for days. She has abandonment issues and is really settling in nicely. She had been used in the past as a puppy mill dog that would have litter upon litter. She is about 12 years old and little, by little, she is feeling more secure. She is a sweet heart and is loved very much.

Jimmy came to the farm when he was 6 months old because his previous owner did not want him. He has been living on the farm for 10 years and loves to keep a look out for people walking down the street. He is the ring leader of getting all of the pups riled up to start a howling session. He's a blessing to us and is loved very much.

Maggie Mae is a DoxiPoo that we had rescued from a pet store 13 years ago. She was up for adoption as was one of her siblings. Her brother got adopted and she was left alone. She just wanted to be loved. She had been abused in the past and had an injured hip. which healed causing her to limp.. That doesn't stop her from running around and chasing her furry friends here at the farm! She is very sweet and will continue to live out her best life here.

We had found Charlie living under the deck of a business when it was very cold outside. He was cold, extremely hungry and his fur was matted very badly. He just wanted to be loved and no longer has to suffer homelessness. He has been living on the farm for 3 years and counting, and loves his new home here. He is very content lounging around and we are so thankful we found him.

Joey is a rooster we had found wondering around in backyards in Bristol. He had been out there for several days, was very hungry and was just beginning to learn how to crow. He may have been let loose because he was a rooster - we really are not sure But we were thankful that we were able to catch him and bring him to the farm. Now he is happy and safe from predators. He has been living on the farm for 4 years now.

We had gotten Teddy from a pet store that was going out of business. He was getting too big for his cage, and wanted so bad to find his forever home. He had so much love to give and gives the best hugs ever. Now he has his forever home here at the farm. Teddy has been with us for 3 years now and loves doing zoomies outside.

Bella is the sweetest girl ever. We had gotten her when she was 6 months old from someone that no longer wanted her. She is now 11 years old and has been enjoying her life here with all of her many friends.

Baxter is the oldest resident here at the farm. He is 14 years old and has been with us since he was 6 months old. He loves to go for truck rides and is so special. He is a very smart boy and we are so blessed to have him.

Henry has lived on the farm for almost 3 years and will be started under saddle soon. He is a very smart boy and a quick learner. We are looking forward to seeing his progress as time goes on. We are hoping he will be a good schooling horse so others can ride.

What would a farm be without chickens! We were just given 6 additional hens from a family that will be having their third baby. The girls have adjusted very well and act like they have lived here forever. They are now one big happy family.
